Alexandria Zoo

They give you fish food at the gate when you pay and a ticket to feed birds. You have to purchase them for $2.00 a piece but it's so worth it. My husband loved feed a bird very clean and pretty. Very clean bathrooms with changing table also very clean. Cup of fish food we received, my 7month old love the whole thing especially the otters.

I've been to zoos all over the country and this was probably my all-time favorite! Hidden gem. Didn't even know it existed and the website didn't say very much. I was expecting a small zoo and a quick tour. But we actually ended up spending several hours there and there were lots and lots of exhibits, lots of animals, I like how the park was laid out so you basically just follow a path with only a couple of offshoots. So you don't miss anything. I like how everything was kind of laid out close together so you didn't have to walk far from exhibit to exhibit, you were essentially seeing one on the right and then on the left and one in front of you etc. The price was right and we appreciated a military discount. I also loved how there was so much vegetation and trees throughout. Very helpful on a hot day to have all of that shade. I'm impressed and would highly recommend

My daughter and grand daughters enjoyed their visit to the Alexandria Zoo so much! They always take me to their zoo when I visit them in Los Angeles so I took them to the Alexandria zoo when they visited here. They loved how close to the animals you can get to see them! We rode on the train and fed the birds in the Australian Aviary. We had sno-cones and bought souvenirs at the gift shop, it was all a lot of fun. The beautiful Oak Trees, thick bamboo and other trees and plants make a nice canopy of shade throughout the zoo, and itu2019s all beautifully maintained - a delightful experience. We will be going back to the Alexandria zoo every time they come to visit.

Pretty great! Much bigger than when I was a kid and a larger selection of animals. My daughter loved it! She loves feeding the koi as much as I did as a child!

It is a pretty nice zoo and the prices are reasonable . We spent about two hours there and went slow, it's just right for a morning or afternoon adventure. It was not busy at all, which was nice. The only thing I could even complain about would be that the train wasn't running, but it is understandable due to the heat index being overr 100. Other than that the only suggestion I could make is that they should stay open later in the evening so that it is cool enough that the animals will come out. Most of the bigger animals weren't out due to the heat.

We went at a bad time. We didn't see the lions or tigers. The Alexandria Zoo is a great zoo. But I might like it just because I am from Alexandria. I do remember it when I was a kid myself it's a lot better now. I took my 2 daughters when they were little. The day we went it was myself, my youngest daughter and 2 of my grandsons. Alexandria Zoo keep up the great work.

Nice little zoo. Had a lot of different birds and animals that I had never seen before, even at much larger zoos. Admission was reasonable and the paths were 90% shaded, which is a huge bonus in the central Louisiana heat.

Perfect zoo to bring your kids too. Prices are very affordable and they keep it clean. Zoo is much bigger than I remember. Can easily spend 2 hours in it.

ITS a cozy zoo... it's recommended to go in the early hours before Louisiana heats up and the animals find hidden and cooler places of shade. A fun little train. A great place to vistud83dudc4dud83dude42

Had the opportunity to attend Zoo Brew that raised funds for the tiger habitat. The weather was beautiful. Food vendors were delicious. Beer and wine was tasty. Music was great. Animals were active. Perfect evening.

Not a huge zoo but it was big fun with the kids! We had fun seeing the animals and riding the train without breaking the bank! Great place to bring the small kids. I doubt teenagers will be impressed.

The kids had a great time! The weather was nice and even the staff we ran into were super friendly as they were cleaning the animals habitats. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars was because the tigers ALL THREE tigers were deceased and several animal exhibits were closed. Lion, emus. Closed.

What an amazing zoo. For the price I promise y'all it is the best zoo you can visit. Family of 7 had an awesome time and we visited right when the animals were being fed.

Small zoo and very straightforward. But that's a good thing. You don't get lost going every which way to try and see it all. No hippos, elephants, rhinos. But the lions and the condor were absolutely breathtaking.

Awesome zoo. Small so you get around pretty quick and have an opportunity to see almost every animal available. Can't beat the price either!

Our family loves our zoo! Hurricane Laura did do quite a bit of damage. Rebuild is going great. The more we all attend, the faster the funds come together. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
