This place is a ‘must visit’. Its located near the creek with an amazing view and you can take a one dhiram abra (boat) to shuttle back and forth to the other souks.nnSince it’s a touristy area the prices are higher so you might have to haggle for something that you really like.nnYou get traditional attires, shemaghs, incense (very common here), dates and other metal artefacts and souvenirs.nnThere is also a restaurant located inside and by the creek.

Dubai Souk market is a prominent place for shopping. All shopping needs are fulfilled under one area. Nicely organized according to varieties and qualities items are sold here. We have shopped nicely there. Dubai Gold Souk market is very beautifully organized.

Want to get a flavour of old Dubai? Looking for some traditional or non-branded clothing? Head to the Old Souk Dubai, a traditional market in the heart of Bur Dubai where you can buy a range of products and experience the charm of the city’s historic shopping destination.nWhen planning a visit to Dubai for shopping, the immediate thought is to cover all the grand shopping malls. However, if one has the time, souks are an excellent add-on. If the malls provide glitz, glamour and brands, the souks have a unique charm, showcasing the region’s cultural heritage with a variety of products from generational craftsmen.nFor example, visiting the old souk Bur Dubai can be a fascinating experience. The kind of hand-woven and machine-made fabrics you find here are unlikely to be available at other places even within Dubai. For this reason, it is also called the textile souk in Dubai. However, your shopping wouldn’t be limited to just textiles.

You will find international and local products. As you enter Old Souk Bur Dubai, brightly lit candles, fabrics and pillows will catch your attention. Numerous shops and stalls sell cotton, raw silk, wool, cashmere and other fabrics.nnAccessories such as buttons, lace and other items are also readily available. Not to forget, your bargaining skills will come in handy. Once your textile shopping is completed, you can head to any of the top tailors in the market to get your clothes stitched

The best place to shop and experience Dubai. Located strategically in buzzing local area. Next to river. Easy access via taxi or bus. So many vendors shop selling gift, perfume, clothes, craft etc. Bargaining is always allowed and recommended. They seller will always put on higher price first. Bargain your way to the lowest possibility. All the vendors are friendly and well spoken English. Dont worry about the communication boundaries. They always try their best to sell the goods and entertain you. The downside is lacked of clean public toilet. Because of thousand of commoner and tourist flocked this area, the issue still remain for it. Need to provide clean and big restroom for all. This area same with all Dubai is totally safe to travel alone or with your family. Highly recommended.

FANTASTIC! Old Souk charm is irresistible. Leisurely shopping, textile and handicrafts, great bargains, hidden temples, little tea shops, all go for a quaint experience. I'll definitely do it again.

Wow! What an experience. Definitely worth visiting and definitely worth going with a guide. There is so much to see and learn.nnA heritage-themed shopping market with traditional architecture, located in the oldest area of Dubai.nDubai's Spice Souk is a colourful, aromatic and sensory experience. The gold souk is a labyrinth of walk ways filled with hundreds of stores selling gold.

Great market with a variety of goods being sold. Always haggle with the shop keepers they will always come down on the prices. This is a great place for both street food and shopping

Get a real feel for Dubai before all the High rise buildings and ex pats moved in. Loads of traders and shops, my friend,.my friend..never knew I had so many friends!! Just be polite and everybody is cool, its all part of the theatre. Take the ferry 1 dihram from Spice to Gold souk, great experience with locals.

We went there with the guide of our tour. He told as what the highest prices for each item would be. Thus was very helpful, because some traders tried to charge seven or eight times more.nOtherwise the market is pretty and a good opportunity to see an other side of Dubai than the glamourus rich side.

It is definitely a cultural experience to stroll through the Souk. A place where you can buy cheap souvenirs, pointy shoes, spices and more. Be careful. They will try to sell you their soul. And for woman traveling alone they will call you to every store. Other than that it is very safe
