This hotel is slightly outside the city center but it's fairly easy to get to downtown Amsterdam via a tram, which can also take you to the train station for transportation to virtually anywhere. The hotel seems to be very popular with cruise passengers, and in fact cruise ships are docked parallel to the hotel and so close to it you could open your window and shake hands with someone on their state room balcony. There were a lot of airline employees, too. Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed by how busy the hotel is, and lines at the front desk were usually long. I'm sure it's much quieter than a hotel near the city center.
I am staying at the hotel with my family and had booked the hotel in advance and requested for interconnecting rooms , but when I checked in forget interconnecting rooms I was given rooms on different floors .. I was told that they would change the rooms the next day and Inspite of requesting that I had a small child who needed my attention and being assured by the reception that they will change they did not change my room but and the staff was least apologetic about it.I wonder why it has been given a 4 star rating or what criteria they have ., there was no complimentary drinking water in the room .. all 4 star properties that I have ever stayed always has .. there was tea coffee maker but the tea bags or sugar was not replenished , the house keeping was pathetic , they did not even make the bed properly, the WC was not clean , there were only 2 pillows in the room .nThe only plus point is the location and the fact that the rooms are good size . It was a very disappointing experience and I will definitely not want to come back here .
No way to book this hotel again. Even though the location is excellent but this not enough, we came on a vacation me and my husband to clear our mind and relax, unfortunately the trip has been ruined due to this hotel's services. The room temperature was unable to be adjusted, the fridge not cooling, the house keeping not cleaning the room appropriately. in addition the shower gel hanging in the bathroom almost finished while checking in.. honestly this hotel has poor services excusing that they are under staff, but why they open for guests if they can't treat them well ...sorry but I don't recommend this hotel.
Would have liked to give a better rating. Hotel was short staffed. The furniture was in need of steam cleaning or recovering. Carpet burns on floor. Halls were dingy and needed vacuuming. On the positiveu2026. Great view from our room, bed was comfy, felt safe. Convenient to transportation.
The only positives I can say about this hotel is that the view from our room was fantastic, the towels were thick and fluffy and the room itself was spacious. I can't understand how they can advertise they are a 4 star hotel. No way! The room was extremely dusty - I mean flying around the room dusty - seemed as though nobody had stayed there for awhile and it was not prepared for our arrival. The drinking glasses were dirty, the tv remote did not work and the pillows were terrible. The "king size" bed was actually two twins pushed together. The staff was less than friendly or helpful. The food in the restaurant was good, but service was very slow. Perhaps it was an extremely busy couple of days, but the staff seemed very overwhelmed.nThe location with respect to touring the city without a car or bike was less than stellar. Other than the hotel restaurant, there were no food options without walking a mile or two. It would have been nice to have been informed that we would need reservations wherever we wanted to eat as we found out on our way back to the hotel after walking 9 miles touring the city! Every place we stopped for dinner told us we needed a reservation. Even the hotel restaurant wanted a reservation but the host was able to seat us without one.nKudos to the gentleman handling our luggage. He was awesome and didn't complain when he had to make 3 separate trips to our room to find and deliver all of our bags from the cruise ship.nAll in all, I can't say I would recommend this hotel at all.
Great location! We could easily walk to the train station and to our Viking cruise ship. Nice room, beautiful view. Nearby restaurants for lunch or dinner; breakfast was a bit more challenging.
My fave hotel to stay in Amsterdam. Firstly, the location is fantastic and the staff are so generous and kind. They went out of their way to move rooms for us after the room we were first in was noisy due to building works and they were great in recommendations around the city. I would highly recommend the restaurant for an affordable high quality meal. Stayed here a couple times and me and my partner are looking forward to returning next month for our anniversary.
Although the entrance is very beautiful and stylish, the rooms are quite basic. Roomy but basic. Beds are too hard & pillows are tiny and uncomfortable.nnThe shower seemed to have a problem with a continuous warm water stream: it was cold and hot on and off.nnBut the worst: in our room (1115) we had a noise pollution caused by the elevator. Unfortunately reception was not able to help other than providing ear plugsu2026nnI find this unacceptable for such a new hotel and particularly of such a renowned brand.
Spacious room, great views, fridge in the room, really good breakfast. For some reason the king bed is two solo beds pushed together. They have wheels and easily come apart. Some mould in the shower tray. Overall I would stay again.
Breakfast was fantastic, the gym was fully equipped ideally for people on vacation, the staff was friendly but the only reason i did not give 5 stars was the fact that our room was left as it was as we went out about our day. Room service sucked, point blank.
It was very nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were kind and helpful. I loved my stay there. ud83dudc4dud83dude0a
Overall enjoyable experience. Location made visiting tourist and historic sites easy. Restaurant service was disappointing and slow and I never received my correct order.
Great location near Viking River Cruise dock. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms.
We have been in this Hotel for holiday its a good hotel but there is few things that disappointed us! They didnu2019t clean the room really well and did not replace soap ;shampoo and u2026 they didnu2019t change the towels and we asked them but didnu2019t change anything.nSo i am not recommended this for holiday
Very dissapointed that the room cannot be temperature controlled. It is way too hot in my room, had the maintenance worker look at it, he explained to me that it is winter in Amsterdam. I come from Canada used to - 40 degrees. Never found a hotel in 50 years where you cannot change the temperature. It is my opinion that maybe they can't be bothered.nThe hotel does not have fans as they have explained to me.
Good location, close to transit, cruise ships & rail. Quiet, clean & comfortable rooms. Restaurant on-site has good menu options.
Great hotel... Great rooms... Great breakfast... Great service.... I had a fantastic time there
