Great location. Short walking distance to main shopping area and right next to World Square with delicious food and amenities. Spacious room with all the essentials one would need. Staff are all friendly and very helpful. Special shout out to Prajwal who went above and beyond his duty to help me locate the nearest pharmacy and wheelchair rental after I’ve sprained my ankle and in desperate need to get assistance so not to miss our much anticipated NYE count down.
Welcomed with a friendly greeting and a smile. I have a service dog and there is always a bit of apprehension when staying at a new place. They were great, asked to say hello before interacting with my dog. Great friendly place to stay, even has a good buffet breakfast. Will stay again next time I am in Sydney.
Location, location, location... an easy four minute walk to all three tram lines at China Town, the Capitol Theatre and Museum Underground Station (which has a direct services to and from Sydney Airport which take 18 minutes). There are so many dining options within the vicinity of the hotel and Sydney World Square with a variety of shops is directly oposite. BUT please note it is a three star hotel, and everything that goes with that rating and pricing. The hotel is showing its age, the rooms weren't large, the lifts can be noisy and there is a pub and massage businesses next door. In my view the positives far outweighed the negatives and as a result we had a fantastic stay. I note our room was a number of floors above the pub and was away from the lifts (we had minimal noise issues) which might be something to request if making a booking. The included buffet breakfast had a reasonable range of freshly cooked / cut food, and staff were always very helpful. We will stay at this hotel again.
Pros: Hotel’s location is good. Reception staff is friendly and cooperative. Breakfast was good.nnCons:nInfrastructure is ill-maintained and housekeeping very poor.nRoom was gloomy and drab. Air quality inside the room was poor. Carpet was old and dirty, probably not cleaned in ages.nnOverall, not worth value for money.
Hotel is rundown, dingy and not pleasant at all. No soap or hand towels provided in room, and after contacting front desk I was told this was a new policy introduced recently (so hand washing and Covid safety out the window I guess!). As a solution front desk told me to use the shower gel and bath towels instead. Complimentary tea and coffee was supplied in the room, however we found plenty of coffee satches but only 1 tea bag. Room ambience was poor as the windows seem thin meaning street noise is loud and also the elevator noise can be heard from inside the room. Lastly, the bathroom was clean but my god the toilet was wedged in next to the shower and was not easy to use if sitting down (sardine can feeling). Really the only positive about the hotel was the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend the hotel though and won't stay again.
Room was not ready at check in. Had to wait for roomed to be cleaned and then told do not put blind up as broken therefore couldn't let in natural light.nShower was excellent, the saving grace for this room.nLocation was also great.
Location was good near to shopping center and city. But the aircons are not under your control if you gonna stay. We felt cold during night time and requested to turn on heater they turned it ON just for 5 minutes. We tried to turn on but won’t work. Paid almost $850 and no AC/HEATERS in room, Really sad. Just giving 2 stars because of location.
5 stars because of such welcoming and friendly staff members on. Shout out to Pxajol (sorry I probably spelt it wrong) and Sami, they were very helpful. Small rooms but when you only need a bed and shower facilities, it doesn't matter. Thanks for the welcoming service Ibis team!
I just spent 5 days at the hotel. The staff where amazing everyone was helpful and kind. I was able to check in early which was a relief and the staff gave me some good tips on places to eat and see during my stay. I enjoy gaming arcades and a cleaner told me of 3 very close to the hotel that where worth going to (and she was right I won a few good prizes and had to buy a carry on to bring them home). My room overlooked a rooftop but I didn't mind as the blackout blinds worked amazingly. The bed was comfy and the shower had good hot water. I asked about a late check out and they kindly accommodated me even offering to store my bags since I had a late flight. The room was comfortable enough for 1 person and the location was close enough to public transport that I could sightsee without a problem.nnPros - location and staff. There is a shopping centre across the road and fabulous food places within a short walking distance. They also have terrific blackout blinds which I wanted to steal and take home.nnCons - aircon is controlled by the front desk something I wasn't aware of at first but they did accommodate me and lowered it for me (it was set to 28* and they lowered it to 24* for me)nThe walls are thin the first night (a saturday night) I was awoken by the the next room screaming for a deity I don't believe in and trying to break through the wall with the bed the second and third nights I had a loud snorer who I suggest gets checked for sleep apenea.nnComments/ suggestions-nNo smart TV or screen sharing available which was a bit meh but the free wifi meant I could watch things on my tablet.nnAll in all I enjoyed my stay the staff from front desk to cleaners where wonderfully delightful and helpful.
Staff were amazing and very helpful. Room was small but nice. The only thing I would suggest is a microwave and some crockery/cutlery in the rooms.
Great location, decent rooms with complementary coffee and tea. Clean towels and linens, very kind staff.nThe elevator was noisy, more attention to the cleaning and more variety in the breakfast would be suggested.
Great for a short stay in Sydney. Right opposite a mall with groceries and food, 4pax room was stocked with lots of tea and coffee. Toilet was newly renovated. Room was clean. Allowed us to keep our bags with them until check-in (we arrived very early from overseas)
Location OK being close to Museum station. Spartan room not to be serviced on my week long stay which was not mentioned when booking. TV was missing several free to air stations. An easy fix but not fixed. A view of a concrete wall. They could have easily done much better considering what was charged. Not again.
Front desk service was lovely. Average conformability in the beds. Bathroom mostly clean. Unfortunately my room was incredibly dusty and could smell it the second you walked in and could also see a layer of it on lamps, phones ETC. As a result my allergies to the dust hindered my sleep and also effected me during my stay and for many hours after.
