Al Shindagha Museum

About Al Shindagha Museum

Al Shindagha Museum, located along the ancient waters of Dubai Creek, tells the proud story of the nation's history and reverent customs. 'Dubai Creek: Birth of a City,' a state-of-the-art immersive experience at the museum, takes guests on a journey through the area's dramatic evolution over centuries. Visitors will learn about what it was like for Emiratis to raise a family by the rivers, as well as how maritime commerce influenced their livelihoods, through immersive animations, touch screens, and antique photos and artifacts. After that, visit the Perfume House to learn more about Emirati fragrances. It demonstrates how scents played a significant role in the nation's culture, with a legacy that continues to this day. Visitors can learn about Emirati culture by smell and learn about the perfumes that played an important role in trade in the Emirates. Al Shindagha Museum, which has given fresh life to one of Dubai's oldest neighborhoods, provides an unrivaled look into the city's colorful history.

We visited on a weekday. Really enjoyed visit and found it interesting. And the staff are extremely helpful. One of the staff, a young man, was exceptionally helpful to mother by transporting her and looking after her wellbeing. Even organising a taxi. Really kind and went the extra mile.

Very interesting museum, good mix from interactive and physical items. Itu2019s consist from 12 separate houses, which renovated from ancient original buildings. Plan at least 3-4 hours to slow walk and exploring. Much appreciate for both guides in Traditional Food house, they made amazing job. Ticket was 15 AED per person, valid one day in all houses.

The museum is still pretty new; as such, it's still being discovered by tourists and locals alike. The museum is fairly accessible, although getting from the car park can be especially taxing on hot days.

What makes history beautiful is the way we celebrate it. And that's exactly how this place does it. The guide was amazingly courteous and informed. The displays are gorgeous and the location mesmerizing. Do not miss it.

A worth a visit experience where your 2 to 3 hours are spent without knowing when it went away, had a wonderful experience going through different houses with each having its own theme and still left some due to time constraints. Do recommend the same.

Excellent experience, beautifully detailed, very well designed, children friendly museum. We will be back to discover more. Good for many hours as it is in fact a charming village to walk around not a single building.

They’ve taken over the whole neighborhood as a cultural museum district, which is awesome. 15Dh gets you access to 9 exhibits, in which most of them have a cultural expert to guide you around. I really enjoyed myself - you can expect to spend 2-3 hours here!

This museum is beautiful and full of wonders to discover. Displays are really well made and it's a pleasure to walk in the museum.nYou have sometimes to navigate between buildings and I had some troubles finding the last one but otherwise, it's really worth the trip to the museum.

An absolute must for visitors of Dubai. 4 buildings with captivating themes and really creative way of displaying history of this beautiful city. Definitely not your basic museum where you stare at things and have to read forever.nLoved the experience, staff is polite and welcoming. Aysha was so kind and explained the history of the creek beautifully, thank you.nCannot believe all costs less than a cup of coffee!

Beautiful and modern museum. It consists of 4 separated buildings, soon to be 20! I highly suggest visiting It to learn about the history of Dubai, the pearls business, the development of the port and the creek. The perfumes section is particularly interesting.nA must see before visiting anything else in Dubai.

Had an amazing experience visiting AlShindagha museum. Staff were very helpful and the place itself is beautifully designed. So many antique items and overall the place itself is so rich in history and plenty of sections to explore. Four stations with multiple sections within each, and there are a lot of cinematic areas that are well presented and illustrate beautifully. Such an everlasting joy visiting this wonderful place which I will be visiting again.

This is outstanding digital museum about history and traditions of Creek. I was happy to see everything with my own eyes, sad that the Poetry house isn't ready, girls I really enjoyed your museum, thank you for guiding me! Also there's some coffee shop and small souvenir shop next to museum, so feel free to come here and enjoy!
