This Theme Park Is Absolutely Awesome. Most of the rides here are Definitely Not For The Faint Hearted. But if you love a Challenge then this is the place to be. This was the first time I visited this park and I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this park. However, some of the staff need training in ethicat and how to treat patrons. I also detected racism from some of them. I chose not to get into a tiff with them and opted to just enjoy the day.
Loved the newly added kiddies rides, my son loved them so much because they mimic the older people rides. The park its kept clean an neat despite the huge number of visitors a day. Lastly the stuff looked beautiful in their dulux khaki uniforms
Honestly loved Gold Reef City and so did my family. Really decent value for money and also quite educational when it comes to our mining history. Mine tour was pretty cool! My 5-yr-old LOVED the rides for his age group. Fun for the whole family. Queues weren't bad either. Well worth the mission.
There aren't enough hours in the day... The rides we did manage to get to were amazing, if I could double back I would have but the queues are extremely long. Food offerings aren't that great. But overall a great experience.
Without a doubt a fantastic place to come. I don't know anywhere else in Africa to go for a theme park that comes close to this. I do suspect the staff of keep rides closed for a while for people not to have continuous rides. If you can come on a slow day it is very enjoyable. Especially if enjoy getting a rush from the free falling feeling. There are rides for the whole family and restaurants all over. Even carnival games some of which are very unlikely to win anything. Some are easy wins
R250 per person is pricey for kids under the age of 13 and below age 4. We took the kids out for the the day. They had a fun day. The staff members were super friendly and professional from the entrance right through to the theme park. Some queues for the adult rides are long but they do move quickly. The kiddies section is small but all the little ones who were there seem to have enjoyed. People were out in their numbers... young groups of teens, young adults, young and old families, couples, moms and their little ones some accompanied by the grandparents. Gold Reef City Theme Park is the place to be for spending time outdoors.
I took my niece on Friday, 8 April 2022, her first time. It was enjoyable. It wasn't too busy. We paid R250 pp, that was a bit steep to be honest. She's 9yrs old, that was a bit much. We had tons of fun and made use of most of the rides. The lady at the ticketing place selling tickets for the Gold pour and the mine tour is a rude and miserable individual, certainly not the kind to be at a theme park and dealing with patrons. The gentleman at the Gold pour exhibition directed us to her to purchase our tickets. He was the most polite, friendliest people, along with the lady who did our tour of the mine. Those two deserve an accolade, they made our experience exceptional.
Amazing place to visit but I have to say plan in advance for this place, step one arrive very early to catch almost all the busy rides, like Anacondas, the trains and so on, 30min after the place open expect to wait about 30 to 1:30min for a single ride that last a minute. Be prepared to walk a lot, like a lot of walking is required there. The 4D experience was amazing just that they have one movie you can not make a choice, I love the fact that you bring your own food and you can buy food in there too. Online purchase is recommended when you arrive, so if you already know you are going buy ticket online. The part I don’t get is both adult and kids pay R250 even though there are rides the kids can not have access to. I have to say overall it’s ideal place to visit. I enjoyed myself after.
Awesome way to spend a day. Wear comfy shoes and only carry what can fit in your pocket comfortably. Even with masks and stuff it's an fantastic experience. Lotsa fun rides... scare factor isn't that bad... eat something light in the morning... enjoy the rides to the full then fill up on the usual carnival style foods... really good value , but get there early... fun in the sun for sure.
Itu2019s really nice, very enjoyable.nnYou need to be really patient when going to Gold Reef City. You will spend 80% of your time there in queues. 10% will be spent walking from one ride to another. 5% will be spent on rides. 5% will be spent eating.nnIf youu2019re a parent thinking of going with your toddler or child under 1.3m, understand that you probably wonu2019t get to go on any of the adult rides because you will be taking care of your child all day in the kiddies section.
It was amazing. Do expect to find long queues before each and every ride. My tip would be to purchase your tickets online if possible because on a busy Saturday arriving at 12 midday they'd say they've reached their maximum capacity or tickets are no longer available. Buying online secures your space. Also arrive early because the queues are very long and the is one before each and every ride. On a busy day, arriving at 11 is too late as you'll no longer have time to play all the games. My favorite rides were the anaconda and the Golden loop. Really revived my adrenaline. The miners revenge was out of order and I was really looking forward to enjoying the ride. None the less. Jump city is also a nice spot. Oh and apparently chocolates aren't allowed inside. I know this because it was the only edible item on my hand bag. I am not sure of other items. This is a good place to go with family and or friends.
BEAUTIFUL hotel and the staff was very friendly. The porter is very good at his job and gives service with a smile. We booked 2 family rooms, spacious rooms and we did not feel cramped at all. The bathrooms are very spacious and modern. There was a problem with one of the cupboards, we were told it would be fixed. Breakfast was also great, the staff at Barney's restaurant were also great. I give 4 stars because of the broken cupboards which no one attended to even after reporting. The beds were very comfortable. Otherwise everything was great.
Whether you're there with friends, adults or little kids, Gold reef has something for everyone. A great place to spend your day with plenty of rides, food and entertainment to choose from.nnThe place is massive so it never feels crowded despite the large number of people there.nnIf in need of any emergency assistance there is a clinic as well as go cart ambulances with a stretcher for moving people about.nnThere's plenty of other amenities within the place to ensure you have a great day there.
