Went to this gorgeous museum as part of an AirBnB Embroidery Experience and was blown away by how colorful and well thought out the exhibits were. If you're interested in knowing all about the incredible diversity that exists within México, definitely check this museum out! Fun fact! The building used to be a firehouse 👨🚒
This museum was super cool! I would definitely classify it as a must see. It’s not too far from other museums, so you could easily check it out in less than an hour. I had a great time here!
Very artistic and nice museum. Entry fee is 60$ per person. You'll need about 2 hours here.nnThe only thing I would add: more explanations in English and honestly a better translator; a lot of texts were faulty.
The museum had many great folk art pieces, and is a great place to learn about Mexican culture. Most have English descriptions although the translation can be sometimes awkward. There are 3 floors and you go from top to bottom. I went on a Sunday morning and there weren't many people.
Stumbled across this fun and inspiring museum one morning. The place has delightful folk art from all across Mexico. You can appreciate the great diversity of the country. Clothing, miniatures, sculpture, painting, and more. Marvellous finds every moment. Probably quite good for kids. Highly recommended.
Wonderful, expansive multi-floor venue featuring a wide array of Mexican folk / pop art. Different than I expected but an excellent visit just the same!
This is one of my favorite museums in Mexico City. I'm not sure why it isn't more well-known or popular on social media because it's amazing. If you like colorful, Mexican art, you'll love it here. The entry fee is only about $3 USD--definitely worth it. The gift shop is also great, authentic, and reasonably-priced--we bought our souvenirs and gifts for family here. I would go back next time I'm in the area!
Amazing folk art museum. Tickets are 60 pesos, free entrance on Sundays. Definitely worth the visit. There are 3 floors in the museum, it will probably take you 1-1,5 hours
Absolutely loved this museum. I learned so much about different Mexican cultures here. Very eye-opening. The imagination, colors are just mind-blowing. Highly recommend.
Great visit! I happened to go on a Sunday so it was free. I loved getting to see the Mexican centric art here ud83dude0a Would recommend!
A great museum displaying the past and present of Mexican folk art. Beautifully organized. Most signs are written in English and Spanish so it's easy to tour without a guide. I suggest about 90 minutes for this museum.
This museum is stunning, the curation and display is gorgeous. The right amount of information is there. And the shop has incredible (on the higher price range) offerings. A must!
Didn't plan on coming here... but I was walking by and saw the eye-catching colours in the foyer. On a whim, I decided to check it out.nnIt was so much better than I expected!!! Entry is cheap, free bag check, and not very many people. The art is all exceptional and the lighting/environment is perfect to showcase each piece. A great journey through Mexican history and culture via folk art. It took me just over 1 hour on my own, but definitely could spend more time if you really want to take everything in.nnAlso, a very kind employee told me to keep my hoodie with me and I am glad they did because it is chilly inside. :)
One of my favorite museums I have ever been to. Colorful, fun, historic. This is a must visit in Mexico City.
I wish I could award even more stars to this stunning museum! To be honest, I was expecting to walk through and have seen what I wished to see in 15-30 minutes. As it was, we spent almost two hours in this remarkable museum. The building itself is remarkable for its clean, yet somehow innovative design which renders its exhibits all the more interesting. As to the exhibits? I believe pictures are worth thousands of words, yet the minimalist bit informative informational plaques were also well worth perusing. A real fine. I’m surprised the overall rating is t closer to the perfect five ⭐️ stars I have awarded it.
Great museum but also the best artisan shopping we found in CDMX. The ladies assisting were incredible. Knowledgeable about their beautiful products and extremely helpful.
Interesting way to spend an hour. Lots of collections of folk-art devils, Catrina's, etc. Outside of the building is beautiful too -art deco with Mexican touches.
This place is so inspirational! I came out of here and went directly to the art supply store. The displays are bright, colorful, interesting, informative. It's open and airy and not many people around, very enjoyable.
