Overall, had a lovely experience at this restaurant. We celebrated an anniversary and did the set menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. They also provided additional smaller dishes throughout each course as a palette cleanser which was nice too. The staff were very attentive and would be available for us to ask questions, take orders and remove plates etc. They also made an active effort to make small talk and conversation which showed that they were interested in getting to know us as well.

Looking for a place to make your taste buds smile? Are you trying to find a restaurant prior to your Sydney Opera show? Do you have extra money to spend and want to have a great dinner experience? Well, Aria might just be the answer. They even have a special Pre Show offer, so you leave the restaurant on time and your belly, well nearly full. Obviously, on the expensive side... 22$ for a can of beer.. 11$ for still water.. but hey.. food was good, and the service was exceptional. They must have as many staff as patrons ! I enjoyed my experience and might return once I reimburse my loan that allowed me to afford that evening altogether.. but hey, well worth it. Enjoy !

Had my wife's birthday here. The staff were all friendly and professional. The sommelier was very knowledgeable, friendly and paired it with the food wonderfully. It was nice seeing all different kinds of floor staff and their passion for the dishes they bring out.nAria had a great view of the harbour and the opera house. The decor was also tasteful. Would love to come back again.

Went to celebrate a birthday. The experience at Aria could be summed up as an overall cold and disappointing night.nnWas recommended a drink by a waitress when we asked for something sweet, the cocktail was sour - when we mentioned it to another waiter, he questioned why we ordered that drink if we wanted sweet because he would not have recommended it. Not great when staff have questionable knowledge and disagree with each other, even if they are friendly.nnWe mentioned to the staff how cold it was in the restaurant. They said they knew, but it couldn't be fixed because the thermostat was stuck on aircon. It was a winter night.nnMains were room temperature/luke warm which made the cold atmosphere feel worse. The fish in particular somehow was overcooked too.nnNo candle on either desserts for a birthday. The souffle dessert was so tart we couldn't finish it. When we mentioned it, the waiter agreed it was sour, but nothing else offered to resolve it.nnThen at the end, a waiter knocked over my cocktail which spilled dramatically on the table and liquid flew onto the floor by accident. Weren't given a replacement, it wasn't taken off the bill. We weren't asked how our meal was.nnOverall a sad night. Most disappointing is that we raised concerns to staff so that it could be rectified but the responses we received were 'we know it's an issue and we can't / don't intend to fix it'.

We had an excellent dining experience at Aria. The service was attentive and top-notch. The ingredients were fresh and locally sourced, and the wine menu was extensive. The artisan sake selection was a highlight, and the duck was cooked to perfection – juicy and delicious. The steak tartare had a nice smoky flavor and the added crunch of the tart was a great touch. We were pleasantly surprised by the mango palate cleanser, which was served at just the right time. Overall, Aria provides a 5-star dining experience with stunning views of the Sydney Harbour and Opera House. While it may not be the most affordable option, it is definitely worth it for a special occasion.

Went there with my fiance to celebrate getting engaged. The food, the staff, the atmosphere were all amazing, oh, and the view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge as the sun was setting... sublime!

100% recommend, couldn't pick a favourite dish, everything about this restaurant was fantastic, from the greeting at the front door, to every waiter telling you about every dish, I left thinking, wow when can I go back..

A long time coming, we got the early dinner option 5:30pm. Great atmosphere, awesome staff. The four course menu was great. Good wines to match.

So the short review - I wouldn’t recommend Aria. There was nothing that made me go wow and the dishes were average at best. A bit more detail - the oysters and the squab were tasty and the veal was okay, however everything else was really lacking considering that this is meant to be a fine dining restaurant and costs about $220 each for the tasting menu. Some dishes lacked flavour, one dish was dry and the service was not amazing. You were left almost waiting to be noticed and it seems that their selling point is the view of the opera house. I’m sad to say that it is not somewhere I would return to.

Went with my partner and we booked in advance to have a table with a view and the tasting menu. The person who seated us was a bit rude and seated us in the back with no view. We said we had requested a view but apparently that doesn’t matter. To make it worse, they had so many open tables in the front (we felt not good enough for them to get nice seats even though we were there early). The other servers were brilliant from then on. But then the food was very underwhelming in taste and extremely small portions (even for a fine dining restaurant). Thank goodness there was bread!

We had the lunch tasting menu with matching wines and it was absolutely divine. What a fabulous way to experience five star cuisine. While each course is small it’s packed with the most amazing flavours and the wine pairings were phenomenal. The service was impeccable and the explanation of each dish and wine was superb. I’d come back here in a heartbeat.

Partner and I chose the tasting menu with matching wines - the food and wine were nice, just not enough of it! The smallest wine servings we've ever experienced at a degustation with paired wine. The food portions also remained small and didn't get larger than a small starter size. For $350 each we expected more. Service was great and wait staff were friendly and attentive. We didn't have the best view as we were on the side of the restaurant, not in the area at the end facing the Opera House. With a couple of extra drinks and a tip, the bill was $850 - unfortunately we've experienced better, for less

An amazing experience and amazing food! The quail and the angus beef were out of this world. Portion sizes are worth mentioning, they were more than adequate and we didn't leave hungry. Service was absolutely outstanding, my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and the staff noted the occasion for us with some special touches.nnHighly recommended for a special night out (or every day if you can afford it!).

We finally had a chance to dine at Aria and our 13th wedding anniversary was the occasion. The food and service all round was excellent, especially from our main server, who is new to the restaurant and yet was across the menu and able to answer all questions. We look forward to going again, a great experience, thanks to all the staff for making it a great evening.
