The Calile Hotel

Wow, cannot recommend highly enough. The rooms and facilities are lovely - check out the rooftop kitchen garden with fuzzy bees and ladybug colony! Everything is thoughtful, the colour palette used is intensely soothing on the eyes and the natural finishings feel great. The staff feel like friends, very caring, diligent and actively helpful.nThe junior suite bath with locally sourced bath soak was absolutely restorative for my chronic pain, along with the in house spa for massage therapy.nIf you have need of respite, this is the place.nSincere thanks to the team.

My wife and I stayed at the Calile Hotel recently as part of our Honeymoon trip in Australia. Upon arrival (and after an 18 hour flight from the states), our receptionist allowed us to check in early and brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. The rooms are quite spacious and clean and we were able to utilize the amenities (spa and gym) which we highly recommend. The pool is a fun spot to get sun and order drinks/food. The area is also very convenient - there is a super market nearby and a host of restaurants/shops all within walking distance. If we visit Brisbane again, we will certainly look to book at the Calile Hotel.

This is the most beautifully designed and luxurious hotel. Love the considered, curated aesthetic. All staff I encountered were very friendly and polite, going above and beyond to provide a true five star experience. Lots of thoughtful little touches throughout to make the stay special. Our room was stunning - cleverly designed bathroom, beautiful bed with quality linen, lovely soft towels, a spacious balcony, a automatic blockout blind and it was surprisingly quiet during the night.nFood drinks were amazing. We ate twice at Lobby bar and also at Bianca. Nothing to fault with either of those experiences.nThe pool area is absolutely stunning - like something from a movie. Lots of cabanas, lots of poolside seating. As a bonus the pool area is protected from the wind but still gets plenty of sun.nThe location itself deserves a mention because it's incredibly convenient to shopping, cafes and food. Everything is within walking distance.nOnly two small downsides: 1. The hotel has a very strict policy on guest photography, which is a little frustrating given how photogenic the surroundings are.n2. We had no hot water to our room on the second afternoon of our stay.

The Calile was an absolutely beautiful and appointed stay for two nights to celebrate our anniversary.nThe staff was delightful and friendly from front desk to poolside.nRooms were like a dream come true, lovely and fresh; the cabanas were the showstopper for us though, a fair system of reserving time to enjoy.nI would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and definitely worth the splurge!

Really excellent hotel.nnThe hotel is well-designed, the rooms are spacious and you can tell lots of thought went into designing them (some of it is even too clever! I wonder how many people miss the ironing board cupboard tucked into the wall?).nnUsually, the ‘cool’ hotels are actually not very good hotels and the actually good hotels are not the cool ones. Somehow The Calile has struck the fine balance here and despite its popularity has maintained high standards.nnExcellent!

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The team is helpful, friendly and very professional. The room was spacious, well equipped mini bar and the bed was so comfortable.nWe didn't get a chance to swim in the pool but it was large, inviting with a lots of seating available around the pool.nPlenty of parking downstairs and there are lots of eateries in the general area

Loved every bit of our stay! The hotel is gorgeous and very aesthetically pleasing with the way it’s been styled. The service was amazing and we were so appreciative for how proactive and welcoming the staff at the front desk, the elevator and the staff right outside the hotel were - they made such a difference to our stay and were so sweet and friendly towards our 7 month old baby boy. The whole precinct has been so well designed with plenty of boutique stores and eateries surrounding it, so is in a perfect location. Can’t wait to come back here!

We stayed at The Calile and added the breakfast inclusion during our stay, it was $70 for two people. The package allowed us to get one drink; tea, coffee etc. and a meal each. We ordered two coffees ($14), the yogurt ($16) and scrambled eggs on toast ($22), which equated to less than the price we paid for the package. I think the way they sell this package is morally wrong as none of the breakfast items on the menu exceed $70, yet you’re still paying that as the standard price. The menu also wasn’t the ‘full menu’ so the more expensive options (that could’ve made it worthwhile) weren’t available to order on the package. The breakfast in general tasted average, it was overpriced and small portions.nnThe room itself is nice but it doesn’t feel cosy, we had a half drank antipodes water in our fridge and the lifts take ages.nnThe day prior to our arrival I also called to confirm if our room would be poolside or city views. We were prepared to pay the premium to upgrade to poolside but they assured me that it was already booked as a poolside room and no payment to upgrade was necessary. However, when we arrived we had city views instead. Not the be-all and end-all but when you’re told one thing and get another, it’s disappointing.nnMy expectation for this hotel was a lot higher given other reviews and the high price point. It has the potential to be great but I would not stay here again.

Best experience we have ever had! The food was fantastic, all the restaurants were able to cater for food and dietary requirements as well as ceoliac sufferers.nnThe beds and towels were amazing! Have stayed 5 times now at The Calile and this recent stay was once again wonderful. Such a beautiful Hotel with its airy breezeway corridors, comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms, not forgetting the extremely comfy beds. The staff too are always so helpful and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back again next time I visit Brisbane.nHighly recommend.nJuanita

Fantastic hotel! Very "insta worthy" with beautiful terracotta tiles and marble throughout. I would describe it as "Mexican desert vibes". Food and cocktails were amazing also!nnI did struggle with the lack of soft furnishings... but that's just a personal thing, I like carpet/rug under a bed. But all in all a very cool place to stay!

Was just passing through this ,what appears a beautiful hotel.. friendly staff around being able to direct us to where we wanted to go as we had booked tickets at their carpark!!nFrom what little experience we had it was lovely and in a hidden gem of a location!So much so we wanted to book it for a Birthday but Weekends are considerably pricey which is understandable in some cases!!nSo unable to give a true total rating for this property/business!!

Nice, clean, chic, staffs are super attentive and helpful, some of them even make the effort to know you by name. Nice pool. They’d let us park our car right outside the building. It’s surrounded by great cafes and restaurants, and walking distance from lots of amenities. Highly recommended.

Hi there, me again!nI am extremely disappointed to read your response. You mentioned that we received the wedding discount? So does that mean we were treated differently because we paid a couple 100 dollars less? Not sure why that should even be raised! Also we never made a mistake with the door sign, we checked in on Wednesday and the “do not disturb” sign was placed on the door Thursday morning until 2:30pm as we were getting dressed and ready for the wedding I then left the room for the wedding at 2:30pm and turned the sign around to “please tidy” and no one came to bring fresh towels or clean, I checked around 6pm and no one cleaned so I proceeded to call reception and ask them to please clean our room, I then waited a further 3.5hrs and checked the room again and no one had been so I physically went to reception and asked the staff can I please have some fresh towels and body products! We then get given 2 towels, no bath mat, no hand towel and no face wash! The bed wasn’t made and the rubbish wasn’t emptied or anything! Then on the Friday we left the room at 10:30am and put “please tidy” and we were gone for over 3 hrs and no one came to clean. So just to clarify - NO MISTAKE was made from us - your customers, your house keeping is extremely poor and the way we were treated discount or no discount was pathetic! You need to improve that’s for sure!

This place ticked every box for a quick getaway with the family! The room view, pool and pool service, spa and restaurants and shopping surroundings were fantastic! The customer service was on point. I felt very welcomed and so did my two littlengirls. Will be back again next time we are Brisbane.

Dropped in with family to have a look and see what it was about. A fabulous bar which reeks of money. Everyone seemed to be well heeled or at least carrying off the act! We sat outside at a round table under an umbrella. We lived it up, sipping coffee, drinking wine and having a cheeseboard, as you do. The service was excellent. It was a nice way to spend an hour in a very busy James street. Recommend.
