South Bank Parklands

About South Bank Parklands

The South Bank Parklands, just across the river from Brisbane's central business district, are among the most well-liked locations in the city with locals and visitors. Everything from fountains and plazas to restaurants, cafes, and little street markets selling regional arts and crafts are scattered throughout the park's attractive combination of well-kept grass and thick jungle. The lovely Nepal Peace Pagoda and the Courier Mail Piazza, which regularly offers entertaining free events, are tucked away next to these many treasures.

A beautiful area next to the river with plenty of attractions including Streets Beach, shops, restaurants or even The Wheel of Brisbane which is not far. The walking routes are all well presented and generally kept quite clean. There's plenty of parking nearby too which is mostly underground in the direct vicinity. Several small parks, BBQ picnic areas, toilet facilities and river views, all nearby within walking distance. A definite place to visit when exploring Brisbane!

An amazing place to be. Great walk along the river. Very pretty especially at night with all the lights. Perfect place for a picnic as well! Totally love the recent transformation over the past year or so.

Great day out for the whole family. Play park or the choice of 2x pools while parents can picnic on the lawns. There are numerous lifesavers on duty. There is also a beer garden for the thirsty parents. There are BBQ facilities and lockers to keep your personals safe. Plenty paid parking underground. This park has numerous stores ranging from souvenirs to chocolate and a Nandos. You can catch the Southbank ferry as an alternative. Plenty sunblock and wear a hat. I suggest taking your beach trolley with all your goodies. There is a small beach. No need to take beach chairs. On the weekend is a street market and a must visit. There are numerous street facing restaurants and cocktail bars. It's a good day out.

Went to Southbank on Sunday with a friend from Hungary 🇭🇺 and it was amazing. Very busy day as the sun ☀️ was shining and such a lovely iconic place to visit. Parked underneath for 4 hours $25.00 for parking. A day well spent.

Is a park by river side; got free ferry "City Hopper" to there from CBD area (Riverside Terminal). Actually walk not so far away to Victoria Bridge can go back to City Hall area. But seeing the evening scene from the ferry was a quite nice experience.

I feel whatever neighbourhood you go in Brisbane it’s very appealing and scenic with lots to do. The closer you get to the centre the nicer it is. South Bank is so vast and scenic on its entire path. And the views of the other side are superb! Nice city! 😎👍

Great place with beautiful gardens, riverside walk, lagoon and pool open to public, restaurants and bars. You could spend the whole day here with several activities and attractions. A man-made lagoon at the centre of the city for swimming is quite unique. I would recommend going for swimming in the early mornings before it gets busy.
